July 4th

Join with family, friends, and neighbors to celebrate American independence at the WNIA’s annual July 4 Parade!

July 4, 2023 (8AM) Update: Due to anticipated rain, the parade has been canceled. We’ll see you in 2024!

June 30,2023 (10:30AM) Community Email from the WNIA: The parade’s start and finish: the grounds of the Aldrich Mansion at the Warner Avenue entrance to the Mansion. The gate opens at 9:00am and the parade starts at 10:00am.

Grand Marshall Frank Galligan, Warwick Neck Elementary School principal since July 2021 and recipient of the RI Outstanding First Year Principal of the Year Award, will lead the parade. Walk, decorate yourself, ride a decorated bike, golf cart, car, motorcycle, or any other machine. And don’t forget boom boxes with patriotic music!

John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail that America’s independence should be celebrated with "Pomp and Parade, Bells and Bonfires.” We will not have bonfires, there may be bells, but there certainly will be pomp and parade.

Presto Strange-O will join us with free iced coffee and lemonade. And there will be as much watermelon and cookies as you can eat.
