Warwick Neck Elementary School will be dismissing students early at 12 Noon on Thursday, September 7th due to extreme heat.
Upon student dismissal at 12 noon, Buses will be running on their typical routes in the afternoon, but on a schedule that is 3 hours earlier. Which means, if your child typically arrives at a stop around 3:25 each day, they will arrive home at 12:25 on Thursday, September 7th only. Additionally, lunches will be served under a modified schedule; however, the kids will not be submitting orders to Aramark as they typically do each morning. Rather, students will select from what is available when they arrive in the lunchroom.
As the school did today, outdoor recess will be canceled on Thursday to avoid overexertion in the extreme temperatures. Please remember to have your child wear lightweight clothing and bring a refillable water bottle to school not only tomorrow, but each day it is warm in the coming weeks. Mr. Galligan, our Principal, will be sure to let our families know once our new cooling system is up and running.
