Remembering September 11, 2001

The following was emailed to the Warwick Neck Community at 9:35 AM on Monday, September 11, 2023 from our Principal, Mr. Galligan:

Dear Warwick Neck Community,

Although our children were not around to remember or experience the events of September 11, 2001, the generations that existed at that time made a promise to never forget. Today, our school flag flies at half-staff and my morning announcements included a moment of silence, including the following:

"Today we reflect, honor and commemorate the events of Sept. 11th 2001, on its 22nd anniversary.

Most of you were not born then, but your parents will always remember that day.

Today, we remember those we have lost; and those families who lost loved ones.

Today, we honor those, such as fire fighters, police officers, military personnel, doctors and everyday people who helped others.

Let us stand before the American flag and observe a moment of silence, where we are all quiet, to show respect.

Today, we celebrate America’s ability to work together, help one another, and respect all people.

Thank you everyone, and be sure to keep smiling. Have a great Monday."

Wishing all of our families a great week -- and with our sincere thanks to all who keep our country safe,

-- Mr. Galligan
