Warwick Neck is excited to undertake a fun-filled week that focuses on building a love for reading. Join us each day from Monday through Friday for something to look forward to as a school, and in individual classrooms!
Additionally, the Scholastic Book Fair is visiting Warwick Neck School to provide students and families with an opportunity to purchase new books to enjoy! The schedule for the week, as well as the Book Fair Shopping Schedule, has been provided below.
Monday, April 7 - "Make-A-Difference Monday"
It's our monthly "Make-A-Difference Monday" where all are encouraged to wear Feinstein shirts as we promote acts of kindness and doing good deeds.
There's also a focus on the 'difference' that reading can make when its done regularly and for information or enjoyment. To help encourage this, all students will receive "make your own bookmarks" to spark creativity!
Tuesday, April 8 - "Books and Buddies Tuesday"
Students will pair up across the school to read books that interest them today! You are welcome to bring a book from home - or borrow one from one of our school collections!
Wednesday, April 9 - "Mystery Reader Wednesday"
Classrooms will be visited by a mystery reader, which may include a local official, school friend, or one or more URI Student Athletes as part of the "Rhody Reads" program!! (Families are invited to “shop” the Book Fair in the library at 6PM, while being offered a Community Resource Fair in the All Purpose Room: featuring our PTA, WestBay Community Action, the Scouts - and more! All attendees will have the chance to create their own bookmark to take home, too!)
Thursday, April 10 - "Terrific T-Shirt Thursday"
Everyone is encouraged to wear a fun, school-appropriate shirt with writing on it that friends can read today!
Friday, April 11 - "Flashlight Friday"
We're heading into April Break by taking a break this afternoon, drawing the shades, dimming the lights, and having fun reading by flashlight! All students will receive a flashlight to keep and enjoy thanks to the generosity of the Feinstein Foundation!!
